A Brahmin named Dinkarbhatt was so impressed with Acharya Dharmgosh Suri that he adopted Jainism. All the other Brahmins protested and at the end all the others turned him out of their cast, so he became oswal. Acharya named his gotra DEVANANDA-SAKHA.

Gosalia, Choubhani, Bislani, Deslani, Hirani, Bhuwani, Kokalia, Mulani, and Bhavarani were the sub gotras, named after the names of family members of Dinkarbhatt.
