Muni Gyansunderji says that Ratanpura was the main gotra and Kataria and other 26 were the sub-gotras. They were Hada, Devra, Songra, Rudnecha, Beda, Balot, Chipa Koch, Khichi, Vihal, Melwal, Balia, Malhan, Pavecha, Katlecha, Rapadia, Dudcheni Nahta, Ishra, Rakalia, Sanchora, Vangton, semta, Pavesha & Bohara on the name of the persons of Ratanpura family. It is also said that Mr. Jhajharsi was a great bountiful persons. When he was the government treasurer, he gave a lot of government money to the poor public. Thus the king became very furious. But he replied that he was not at all guilty. He gave alms to the poor so that the king could go to the heaven and not in the hell. The king was so pleased that he honored him with the Katar (small sword) hence his family was named Kataria. It is said that Mr Jhajharsi Ratanpura was allowed to go to the king’s court with the KATAR, so his family was called KATARIA. The younger brother of Jhajarsi was Pethad Shah, a famous Shah in the history of oswals. Kataria mehta Lakhansi build a very beautiful Dharmshala and a Baori for the general public. There are 39 essays in support of the above version. Out of them 31 are of Khartar Gachh, 3 of Tapa Gachh, 1 of Jakharia Gachh and 1 of Ratanpuria Gachh and 3 others.
