KULDEVI

The origin of Shresthi gotra is already described in origin of 18 gotras. 

In VS 1201 Dulah Shresthi was residing in Chitore.  His grand father Karamsi was a famous vadya (Physician). He had a grand knowledge of roots and plants used for medicines. 

It is said that the queen of Chitore suffered eyesore. King tried a lot of remedies for the treatment of the queen’s eye but it could not be cured. The disease and the pain was increasing day by day.  Acharya Shri Jindutt Suri prepared a medicine and gave to Dulah Shresthi and advised him to give it to the queen. Dulah followed his orders and the medicine soon did its work. King was very pleased and honoured him with the title of Vaidya and it became the gotra. 

Sachhiyay Mata, Osiyan is the Kuldevi of this gotra.
