The original name of this goddess is  Mahishasur Mardini,Chamunda Tappogacch  Aacharya Shri Posaliya was very famous for the divine power . It is said that Mahishasur Mardini was divotee of Aacharya Posaliya.


King Mahipalji had no son he tried a lot but he could not become the father of a son
One day he come to know that Aacharya  Posaliya is in his town so he went to Aacharya Posaliya & prayed him to bless of a son . Aacharya Placed him the condition that if he will become a father of a son what will he do to please the Aacharya . King Mahpalji agreed to become the follower of Jainism & will do as per the instructions of Aacharya's order.       

Aacharya Posaliya called the goddess by charming mantra . The Goddess has appeaed with twenty hands and mounted on the lion with Bhairva's both kala & gora on both the sides so from that day this goddess was named as Beeshath Mata

As per the Aacharya the goddess blessed the King Mahipal and ordered him to name the blessed son when the bird Kochariappears on his palace with the blessing of the goddess a son was borned to king Mahipal's Queen . He was name Kochar . King Kochar build a temple of Beeshath Mata at Falodi .

Shri Baijnath and Shrinathmal Kochar of Jalor took the Devi's Diety from Falodi to Jodhpur at Bherubaug & build a temple in Bherubaug in v.s. 1919 on jyeshtha shukla 5th
