Shri Chanchal Mal Lodha borned on 29th Sept. 1929 in a middle class family. His father Shri Mohan Mal Lodha was a police inspector. After passing matriculation he started working. His whole life was full of changes in jobs, profession and places. He worked for insurance company, police department, gone in business of diferrent types, opend a school and later college, worked as a manager for trading company, managed theatre etc. Since 1974 he started devoting his most of the time for social services. Mainly he concentrated his efforts in the area of digging the history of oswals and origin of different gotras in oswals. He travelled whole of India to gather information. He met Bhats and Charans, Acharyas of different gachh and sampraday, went through lot of
Jain Shashtras etc. He published first "All India Directory of Lodhas" in the year of 1985. Second Lodha directory was published in 1992. Third directory of all India Lodha published in 1996. He compiled and published Lodha Vanshavali of 53 generation dated back VS 701. He published first directory of all Jains in Jodhpur. He collected material about oswal history and helped in publishing first part of "Oswans udhbhav avam Vikas" written by Dr. Mahaveer Mal Lodha (his younger brother).

3rd All India Lodha Mahasamelan honoured him in 1992 with "Lodha Kulbhusan".

Now he is putting all his collection in web site named www.oswals.net  for the benefit of generations to come. He has compiled list of 2700+ gotra in oswals and published on this site. Now his mission is to create world wide directory of oswals on internet and compile directory of all Jain Swetambar monks.

Recently in July 2000 he was honored by Jain Samaj, Indonesia for his contribution to the oswal community in general.
