Kamani-Singhi

Deora Samarsingh was the ruler of Mandavgarh. He had seven sons. The youngest son was Karamsangh. He fell a victim to ‘Kamania Poison’ disease. By chance, Acharya Shri Vardhman Suri came to the city. The poison had spread in the whole of the body and he became unconscious. When the kingheard that the Acharya is a saint who can perform miracles. Then  the king went to the Acharya and requested him to cure him. Acharya gave him initiated water and told him to scatter it on the body of the prince. The prince got rid of the disease and regained health. On the Acharya’s pursuation the king accepted the change of caste and took to the vcult of non-violence. He became a member of the caste Oswal. His gotra was named Kamani, as the prince got rid of “Kamani Vish” desease.

Samarsingh went to Shatrunjaya with all the jains and wore th garland of ‘Sangh0, so he was named Sanghvi or Singi’.

Kuldevi of this gotra is Shri Ashapura Mataji.
