Mahipal

Once Acharya Shri Arya Rakshit Suri arrived to the city of Parker in Sindh (Pakistan). In those days King Mahipal of Parkar State was in much trouble. When he heard that the Acharya had arrived in the city, he went to the Acharya and parayed, “Terrible Disease of Plafgue has spread over the city. It is heard that you have an astonishing power, so please do something for the welfare of the general public.”

Acharya replied, “Oh King! The disease will be finished but you will have to become Oswal and adopt Jainism.” King accepted the proposal. Then Acharya uttered some Mantras and the disease had gone. The family of king was named ‘Mahipal’. The Kuldevi of this gotra is Hinglaj Mata, but people follow Matta Sachyaya of Osiyan.
